Know Your Medal of Honor Recipients:
Sergeant Wallace W. Johnson (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. His citation reads:
With five other volunteers gallantly charged on a number of the enemy's sharpshooters concealed in a log house, captured them, and brought them into the Union lines.
Cooper William Johnson (US Navy) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on November 14, 1879, on board the USS Adams. His citation reads:
Serving on board the U.S.S. Adams at the Navy Yard, Mare Island, Calif., 14 November 1879, Johnson rescued Daniel W. Kloppen, a workman, from drowning.
Private David Johnston (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on May 22, 1863, at Vicksburg, Mississippi. His citation reads:
Gallantry in the charge of the "volunteer storming party."
