Exclusive Pics... and Ashley’s Favorite Movies

Know Your Medal of Honor Recipients:

Sergeant Charles S. Fall (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on May 12, 1864, at Spotsylvania Courthouse, Virginia. His citation reads:

Was one of the first to mount the Confederate works, where he bayoneted two of the enemy and captured a Confederate flag, but threw it away to continue the pursuit of the enemy.

Private Thomas T. Fallon (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on May 5, 1862, at Williamsburg, Virginia; May 30-31, 1862, at Fair Oaks, Virginia; and June 14-15, 1862, at Big Shanty, Georgia. His citation reads:

At Williamsburg, Va., assisted in driving rebel skirmishers to their main line. Participated in action, at Fair Oaks, Va., though excused from duty because of disability. In a charge with his company at Big Shanty, Ga., was the first man on the enemy's works.

Color Sergeant Benjamin F. Falls (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on July 3, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. His citation reads:

Capture of flag.

Great news!  After exten$ive negotiations, I'm just sayin... has obtained the exclusive rights to the below pictures of the newest addition to Our Life.

Here we see the proud daddy with (now) Big Brother Wyatt and new baby Ansleigh Grace.

KC with Big Sister Aubrey (3 years old with two siblings... that's got to be some kind of record or something) and Ansleigh Grace

Not 100% sure what Aubrey and Wyatt are doing... but it looks like maybe they are checking to see if all the fingers and toes are there.  I think we can already tell who is going to be taking care of this sweet baby.

I know I told you I’d be posting the Top 5 Favorites of some of our fans, but the first one I’m going to post is a Top 10… I figured the 2011 I’m just sayin… Fan of the Year deserved to have an extra 5 movies on her list. So…

2011 I’m just sayin… Fan of the Year Ashley’s Top 10 Movies

10. Juno

9. Shag

8. 40 Year Old Virgin

7. 4 Weddings and a Funeral

6. Love Actually

5. Girls Just Want to Have Fun

4. Dirty Dancing

3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

2. Grease 2

1. Grease

For the record, Ashley tried to count Grease and Grease 2 as 1 movie and tried to count all eight Harry Potter movies as 1.  So I had to make an executive decision and split the Grease movies and pick just 1 of the Harry Potter movies.  If Ashley does not like this, she is welcome to follow the rules next time.  ;)
Reminder: The main list includes the movie title, director, cast and year of release.

The I’m just sayin… Quote of the Week

Adversity is the state in which man most easily becomes acquainted with himself, being especially free of admirers then. - Coach John Wooden

Let Movie May Begin!!!!!!!

Know Your Medal of Honor Recipients:

Lieutenant Colonel Don C. Faith, Jr. (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions from November 27 – December 1, 1950, at Vicinity Hagaru-ri, Northern Korea. His citation reads:

Lt. Col. Faith, commanding 1st Battalion, distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity in action above and beyond the call of duty in the area of the Chosin Reservoir. When the enemy launched a fanatical attack against his battalion, Lt. Col. Faith unhesitatingly exposed himself to heavy enemy fire as he moved about directing the action. When the enemy penetrated the positions, Lt. Col. Faith personally led counterattacks to restore the position. During an attack by his battalion to effect a junction with another U.S. unit, Lt. Col. Faith reconnoitered the route for, and personally directed, the first elements of his command across the ice-covered reservoir and then directed the movement of his vehicles which were loaded with wounded until all of his command had passed through the enemy fire. Having completed this he crossed the reservoir himself. Assuming command of the force his unit had joined he was given the mission of attacking to join friendly elements to the south. Lt. Col. Faith, although physically exhausted in the bitter cold, organized and launched an attack which was soon stopped by enemy fire. He ran forward under enemy small-arms and automatic weapons fire, got his men on their feet and personally led the fire attack as it blasted its way through the enemy ring. As they came to a hairpin curve, enemy fire from a roadblock again pinned the column down. Lt. Col. Faith organized a group of men and directed their attack on the enemy positions on the right flank. He then placed himself at the head of another group of men and in the face of direct enemy fire led an attack on the enemy roadblock, firing his pistol and throwing grenades. When he had reached a position approximately 30 yards from the roadblock he was mortally wounded, but continued to direct the attack until the roadblock was overrun. Throughout the 5 days of action Lt. Col. Faith gave no thought to his safety and did not spare himself. His presence each time in the position of greatest danger was an inspiration to his men. Also, the damage he personally inflicted firing from his position at the head of his men was of material assistance on several occasions. Lt. Col. Faith's outstanding gallantry and noble self-sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty reflect the highest honor on him and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Army. (This award supersedes the prior award of the Silver Star (First Oak Leaf Cluster) as announced in G.O. No. 32, Headquarters X Corps, dated 23 February 1951, for gallantry in action on 27 November 1950.)

Corporal John A. Falconer (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on November 20, 1863, at Fort Sanders, Knoxville, Tennessee. His citation reads:

Conducted the "burning party" of his regiment at the time a charge was made on the enemy's picket line, and burned the house which had sheltered the enemy's sharpshooters, thus insuring success to a hazardous enterprise.

Sergeant Henry Falcott (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions from August – October 1868, in Arizona. His citation reads:

Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians.

A couple of things I forgot to say yesterday about the movie countdown. With a list this big, you’d think I covered every movie made. I didn’t… I’m sure I forgot something. So if I forgot your favorite movie, sorry. I did not forget The Wizard of Oz, I just left it off the list. Why? It gave me nightmares as a kid… to the point that I learned how to wake myself up. Bad stuff. So it’s not on the list. Consider this my payback for all of those nightmares. If you see a Jane Fonda movie on here, it will be because I made a mistake. I’m pretty sure I’ve made my feelings known on her before, so I won’t get into it now. I will say she claims that she loves the military and she pretty much blames internet rumors for things she says she didn’t do in Vietnam. In life we have choices and until I’m convinced otherwise, I choose to believe what I read in a honest to goodness hardcover book long before I saw anything on the internet about it. If you want to make your own list and include her movies, so be it. I will not hold that against you… but you won’t (or at least shouldn’t) see her movies on my list. Also, I tried to leave TV movies off the list (which is why you won’t see the North and South series on here). Some TV movies might have slipped in without me catching it. With this many movies, it’s hard to catch everything. How did I get so many movies on the list? Wikipedia, of course. With this many movies and only 31 days, there’s really no good way to post this countdown. After talking it over with the staff, we have decided to post the majority of the list in the first part of the month… so by the end of the month we’ll be posting smaller sections of the list. For the most part, the list will contain the rank, movie title, director, cast and date the movie was released. If I have time and/or remember, I might also post some quotes from the movie (but that will just be for certain movies, not all of them). As I said yesterday, I hope you enjoy this.  We at I'm just sayin... spent a good deal of time working on it.  I wish I could take all of the credit for it, but everyone who works on this blog had a vote when it came to ranking these movies.  So let's get to the first day of the list.
