Know Your Medal of Honor Recipients:
Sergeant Charles W. McKay (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on May 8, 1864, at Dug Gap, Georgia. His citation reads:
Voluntarily risked his life in rescuing under the fire of the enemy a wounded comrade who was Iying between the lines.
Color Sergeant George McKee (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on April 2, 1865, at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads:
Gallantry as color bearer in the assault on Fort Gregg.
First Lieutenant Nineveh S. McKeen (US Army) received his Medal of Honor for his actions on December 30, 1862, at Stone River, Tennessee AND on June 25, 1863, at Liberty Gap, Tennessee. His citation reads:
Conspicuous in the charge at Stone River, Tenn., where he was three times wounded. At Liberty Gap, Tenn., captured colors of 8th Arkansas Infantry (C.S.A.).
We’ve got less than 30 days until the 2013 edition of my Labor Day Weekend Family Reunion!!!!! I’m pretty excited. Mom and Dad are excited. Teresa Lynn is excited. Sonny… I’m not sure. I think Sonny is excited, but it’s kinda hard to tell. The problem is his “excited” voice sounds just like his “sad” voice/“stressed” voice/“bored” voice… Sonny is a lot like Spock from the original Star Trek series.
