Disclaimer

If you do not know me (I mean, really know me) then there is something you need to understand before you read this blog: I value the truth above everything else... except a good laugh. A good laugh will almost always beat the truth as far as I’m concerned. Everything you read on this blog will be true, somewhat true, or something I made up in an effort to get a laugh. Sometimes I will go on a rant that I don’t really mean (or only kind of mean). Sometimes I will mean what I write only to completely change my mind a year, month, or day later. Such is life. By reading this blog you agree not to get offended by anything I write (or, at the very least, you agree not to tell me or anyone else that you are offended). It is worth noting that my employer does not endorse my blog (or even read it, to tell you the truth). The Wife also does not endorse my blog (though she will read it from time to time). I am not paid to write this... it’s just my way of giving back to the community. I have, and will, touch on a wide range of subjects and will give my opinion on these subjects. Again, most of what I say is for laughs but every now and then I will say what I really think and feel (see my views on Westboro Baptist Cult). How will you know when I’m serious and when I’m trying to get a laugh? You’ll know. And if you don’t know, well... maybe this isn’t the best thing for you to be reading. So, sit back, read and enjoy. Leave comments if you want and don’t be afraid to publicly follow me.

It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to congratulate the Yankees on winning their 27th World Series. There are some out there who hate the Yankees because, they say, the Yankees “buy” championships. I’m not a Yankee fan (GO CUBS!), but I don’t hate them. I don’t hate any team that spends money to win. I hate the teams that don’t spend money. I don’t have the numbers in front of me right now, but at one point there were teams receiving more money from the Yankees (through the “luxury tax”) than they were spending on their payroll. That’s what I hate.

Who knew that this whole Rap/Hip-Hop/whatever the kids are calling it thing would one day become so mainstream? Rappers are now in TV shows. Does anyone else see the irony in Ice-T (of “Cop Killer” fame) playing a cop on TV? Ice Cube (from the group that gave us “F**k tha Police”) has been in so many movies (even a kids movie!) there’s a chance younger people will know him more for that than his music. Dr. Dre (from the same group) is in a Dr. Pepper commercial. Snoop Dogg has been in movies and on TV. There are plenty of others...

So you may have noticed I’ve had some commercials on here. I’m looking for new and old funny (or cool) commercials. I have some that I’ll be posting from time to time... but if you think of any, let me know and I’ll try to find it on YouTube. My post today is brought to you by Nike...

The I’m just sayin... High School Football Game of the Week tonight is James Island at West Ashley. Folks, when these two rivals meet you can throw the record books out the window. It is shocking, really, for anyone who hasn’t been following high school football in this area for some time that these two teams are at the bottom of their respective regions. The Wildcats are favored in this one by 2 points... I say take the Trojans and the points. And keep the women and children at home, because this one could be ugly.

Cleveland Cavs update: Cavs vs. Knicks. Tonight. Some of the Yankees players will be on hand to watch my boy LeBron lead the Cavs to victory.

Winthrop Eagles update: If The Eagles are going to have a good season, they are going to need big things from Junior forward George Valentine. Valentine showed great improvement as the season went on last year. If he was able to continue that improvement over the summer, I expect great things from him this season.
